James A. 'Pete' Prevost Sr., 76

DOVER - James A. "Pete" Prevost Sr. of Dover died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, in his home. He was 76.

Mr. Prevost was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Hancock, Md., to the late Lawrence C. and Christianna Prevost.

Mr. Prevost served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War.

He worked for Dover Electric and Consolidated Electric in sales.

Mr. Prevost was a workaholic and never met a stranger. He was a model train enthusiast and ran his own train repair shop "Pete's Train Barn Repairs."

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bud Prevost.

Mr. Prevost is survived by his wife of 28 years, Marian (Jester) Prevost of Dover; his son, James Prevost Jr. of Dover; his stepson, Robert Jester of Harrington; his brother, Howard C. Prevost of West Virginia; his sister, Katherine Long of Hagerstown, Md.; and his grandson, James Lawrence Prevost of Felton.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, U.S. 10, Dover. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening.

Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to help defray funeral costs.
