SMYRNA - Jacqueline V. Kujawski - Goddard passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at Bay Health Kent General Hospital in Dover, surrounded by her loving family. Jackie was born on March 5, 1944 in Houston, Texas, an only child to General Fred W. and Phyllis W. Vetter of Houston, Texas. When young, her family moved often living in Puerto Rico, California, Hawaii, Japan and Germany. She attended Bitburg American High School in Germany and Texas Women's University. She eventually moved to Alexandria, VA, married and had only one child, Jacqueline C. Heflin. They relocated to the Dover area where she worked in banking and loans; Boscov's in Dover and later started a 17 year career as a real estate agent at the Smyrna office of Harrington ERA. During her 17 year career as a real estate agent, Jackie received numerous certifications and received many awards of recognition for her service. She was an active member of the real estate community and long standing member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. In 2008, she married James Ronald Goddard of Smyrna. Jackie loved people and would make friends wherever she went. She enjoyed cooking, playing all types of games, especially card games and bingo and being around friends. She will be greatly missed. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, General Fred W. and Phyllis W. Vetter. Jackie is survived by her husband, James Ronald Goddard; her daughter, Jacqueline (Derik) of St. Louis, MO; her three grandchildren, Kathryne, Sarah and Samuel; as well as numerous step-children and step- grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-granddaughter, Haley Holderman. A viewing will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 10 am in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Dover, DE. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com
