Ivan Ray Hearn, 79
CLAYMONT - Ivan Ray Hearn of Claymont died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, in the Henrico Doctor's Hospital in Richmond, Va. He was 79.
Born in Hebron, Md., Mr. Hearn was the son of the late Hilary Ray Hearn and Katherine T. Hearn.
Mr. Hearn was a graduate of Goldie Beacom College in Wilmington.
Mr. Hearn was a transportation manager for ICI Americas, Wilmington, for more than 30 years before his retirement in 1989.
He served for four years in the U.S. Army beginning at the end of World War II.
Mr. Hearn is survived by his loving wife, Ruth B. Hearn of Claymont; two sons, Curt Hearn of Metairie, La., and Daniel Hearn of Richmond; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 8 p.m. today in Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton, Md., where friends may call one hour prior.
The interment will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
