Irving E. "Gene" Schneider Jr., 60

SEAFORD - Irving E. "Gene" Schneider Jr. of Seaford died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at his home after a long illness. He was 60.

Mr. Schneider was born in Salisbury, Md., son of Irving E. Sr. and Betty (Whayland) Schneider of Salisbury.

He worked for H & H Maintenance Co. of Laurel.

Mr. Schneider was always a hard worker, but in his spare time he liked to go camping, hunting and fishing. He very good doing wood crafting, selling a lot of his crafts.

He loved his family, and had a special place in his heart for his dog, Taz.

Mr. Schneider was a member of ABATE in Laurel and the Moose Lodge 654 in Salisbury.

A son Michael Schneider preceded him in death in 2000.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Betty Warren Schneider; three sons, Allen Schneider and his wife Jamie of Seaford, Richard Schneider of Brooksville, Fla., and Eric Schneider and his wife Crystal of Brooksville, Fla.; eight grandchildren, including Ashley, whom he raised like a daughter; two brothers, Glendon Schneider and his wife Aggie of Manteca, Calif., and Bruce Schneider and his wife Natalie of Stevensville, Md.; a sister, Beverly Wentzel of Salisbury; and four sisters-in-law, Cathy, Linnie, Ann and Felicia.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 48 W. Market St., Greenwood. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Delaware Hospice, 600 N. DuPont Highway, Suite 107, Georgetown, DE 19947.
