MAGNOLIA - Irma Torres and Uriel Torres both of Magnolia, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, in a tragic automobile accident.
Ms. Torres, 39, was born March 31, 1967; and Uriel Torres, 16, was born March 3, 1990, in Veracruz, Mexico.
Ms. Torres and Uriel were active members of Maranatha Christian Church, Dover.
Ms. Torres served the Lord with devotion and was the leader of the dance and drama group in the church. The most important thing in her life was her love for God and the love for her son, Uriel.
Ms. Torres was a Mary Kay representative.
She led a dedicated life to prayer and reading the Bible. She enjoyed decorating and exercise. She was a devoted mother and she was always praying for her son and her family in Mexico. Another of her passions was her mime and Christian dramas, which she prepared with excellence and devotion. Irma's life was a testimony to her family and those who knew her.
Uriel Torres, Irma's only son, was a student at Caesar Rodney High School. He was very active and enjoyed playing sports, especially soccer, and he was a member of the church softball team.
He was a member of the youth group of Maranatha Christian Church.
Uriel participated in the dramas that his mother directed and he always performed as Jesus Christ.
They are survived by the mother of Irma and grandmother of Uriel, Cira Perez; brothers and sister of Irma, Andres Torres, Rafael Torres, Hector Torres, Nery Torres, Maribel Torres and Rey Jesus Torres, in Delaware; sister-in-law, Janet Torres, and her dear friend, Roger, and Uriel's girlfriend, Devon.
Services were Tuesday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
