Irene Phillips Kelso Sorbara, 69

REHOBOTH BEACH - Irene Phillips Kelso Sorbara of Rehoboth Beach passed away on Aug. 19, 2007, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Lewes. She was 69.

She was born on March 15, 1938, in Lewes, daughter of the late Hettie Mildred Moore Phillips and Clifford Futcher Phillips.

Mrs. Sorbara was an elementary school teacher for 30 years, all in the Rehoboth Beach Elementary School.

She was a member of the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church of Midway.

Mrs. Sorbara was also a member of Unity Chapter 16, Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron in 1985.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hugh Kelso Jr. in 1970; and by her second husband, Rosario Salvatore Sorbara in 2006.

Mrs. Sorbara is survived by her aunt, Margaret Moore of Rehoboth Beach; her uncle, Clifford Moore of Milford; several cousins and friends; and all the children she taught and loved dearly.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, with the Revs. Ernie Olson and Keith Offen officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, where Eastern Star Services will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Burial will be at Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Henlopen Avenue, Rehoboth Beach.
