FRANKFORD - Ida Marie Whaley of Frankford departed this life Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, in Green Valley Nursing Home, Millsboro. She was 83.
Mrs. Whaley was born March 8, 1924, daughter of the late Helen (Smith) and Elijah Pitts of Berlin, Md.
She was educated in the Williamsville school district.
Mrs. Whaley was employed by Bunting Nursery and retired from H&H (Mountaire) in Selbyville after 30 years of service.
She was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church, and a member of the senior choir.
Mrs. Whaley was a true lover of family and life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Whaley; four brothers, Harrison, Thomas, Rusell and James; and five sisters, Sarah, Flossie, Helen and Rita.
She is survived by one daughter, Mildred A. Hudson of Selbyville; one son-in-law, William B. Hudson of Selbyville; one brother, Frankie Pitts of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Star Hudson of Frankford, William Hudson Jr. and Anna DeShields, both of Selbyville, and Barry L. Hudson and Keith Hudson, both of Kent County; a special grandson, Kirk Hudson of Frankford, whom she cared for from six months old; and a granddaughter, Danielle Hudson of Frankford.
A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Zoar United Methodist Church in Selbyville. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the church.
Burial will be Monday at the Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro.
