CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Ida Mae Hadaway Dulin, born May 1, 1926, died Sept. 9, 2017, wife of Quenton Dulin of Chestertown.
A graduate of Rock Hall High School Class of 1944 she went to work for the Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C. as a clerk in the Milk Pool. On Dec. 31, 1945, she married her sweetheart, C. Quenton Dulin. They worked as herdsman for Island Point Farm and Driftwood Farm until the fall of 1948, when they bought the farm where Quenton was born. They were married for over 71 ½ years.
She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rock Hall. She enjoyed bowling with friends in Rock Hall and Chestertown and collecting local post cards, especially Rock Hall and Tolchester. Mrs. Dulin was also a member of 4-H and later served as a 4-H Leader for many years and was elected to Honorary 4-H All-Stars. She was active in Quaker Neck Club of Homemakers where she held office of local, county and State treasurer for two terms. Mrs. Dulin documented antique quilts for Kent County, was Women's Chairman of Kent County Farm Bureau, and served on the committee for Bill Nicholson Statue in Chestertown. She was also a member of the Historical Society, Eastern Shore Doll Study Club of Maryland, Upper Genealogical Soceity, Maryland State Society, United States Daughters of 1812 War and Daughters of Kitty Knight 1812.
She was predeceased by her parents, Walter (Naughty) H. Hadaway, Jr. and Nannie Newcomb Hadaway; three sisters, Anna Lee Thompson, Caroline Bryden and Marie Vansant; and a brother, Walter H. (Naughty) Hadaway, III.
In addition to her husband, Quenton Dulin, she is survived by a son, Danny Walter Dulin and wife Terry of Chestertown; two daughters, Anna C. Nordhoff and husband Mike of Chestertown and Joyce P. Bradley and husband Wayne of Chestertown; four grandchildren, M. Shawn Nordhoff and wife Jackie of Kinzer, Pa., Charles Nordhoff and wife Amy of Parsonsburg, Md., Melissa Wilkinson and husband Andy of Rock Hall, Md., and Laura Michael and husband Seth of Smyrna; and five great-grandchildren, Kelsey Hickman and husband Shawn, Cole Nordhoff, Bennett Nordhoff, Max Nordhoff and Mia Nordhoff.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 between the hours of 6 to 8 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road Chestertown. Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, following the service.
