Ida Jean Jackson

SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Ida Jean Jackson of Sudlersville, Md. died Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Chestertown, Md. She was 82. Mrs. Jackson was born July 29, 1932 in Galena, Md. the daughter of the late Charles Henry Jackson and Matilda "Kimble" Jackson. Ida attended Galena High School and in 1963 began working as a caregiver for different families in and around the area including the Wisner Farms where she worked for several years. Mrs. Jackson also worked at Dixie Joe's in Galena for a number of years. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, and loved to watch the Orioles. She also enjoyed weaving lawn chairs and taking long walks around the family farm every morning. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles E. Jackson in 2010. She is survived by two nephews, Bryan Jackson of Sudlersville, Md., Dane Jackson of Barclay, Md.; two great nieces, Jessica Wilson and (Carl) of Sudlersville, Md., Terri Jackson and (Kevin)of Frederica, Del.; two great nephews, Bryan M. Jackson and (Allie) of Sudlersville, Md., Travis Jackson and (Amanda) of Centreville, Md.; a great great niece, Scarlet Wilson of Sudlersville, Md.; and a great great nephew, Jacob Jackson of Sudlersville, Md. A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014 at Galena Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to the Kent Center, 905 Washington Ave., Chestertown, MD 21620.
