Ida I.O. Smith, 56 LINCOLN - Ida I.O. Smith, of Lincoln, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at home. She was 56. She was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Morris Burton Owens Jr., and Mildred Renee Smith Owens. She was an L.P.N. at Beebe Medical Center. She was a member of the Sussex Central SDA in Georgetown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepson, Richard A. Smith Jr. in 1999; and her sisters, Grace Kay Owens and Joann Dix Brittingham and Robin L. Kight. She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Smith Sr.; four step-children, William Smith of Youngsville, N.C., Sheila Smith of Wilmington, Mary Ann Smith of Millsboro, and Kelly Miranda of Texas; siblings, James H. Owens of Farmington, George R. Owens of Ellendale, Sallie Hurd of Williamsville, and Rhonda L. Whitehouse of Ellendale; step-grandchildren, Richard A. Smith III, Miranda Smith, Andrew Smith, Rebeka Smith, Steven Hulsey, Elizabeth Toomey, Jessica Toomey, Kaylee and Freddie Miranda. Funeral Services were 1 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2010, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton. Interment was in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandra, VA 22312.
