GEORGETOWN - Howard R. Bush, Sr., a lifelong resident of Sussex County, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2015 at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Middletown. Howard was born in Lewes, son of the late Charles and Clara (Johnson) Bush. He worked for 25 years as a mechanic with JG Townsend in Georgetown. In his younger years, he worked alongside his brothers in the farming and timber cutting industries. Howard was a member of the First Baptist Church of Georgetown. Many years ago he was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lewes, where he sang in the choir, was a Sunday school teacher, involved with AWANA and served as Trustee. In his spare time, Howard enjoyed NASCAR, baseball and gardening; but especially spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel M. (Rogers) Bush; two brothers, Thomas and Charles Bush; a granddaughter, Jessica Bush; and a step-son, John Walls. He is survived by six children: Richard and Lou Bush, Stella and Bob LeGates, all of Millsboro, Steve and Cheryl Bush, of Peterson, Iowa, Charlie and Dorothy Bush, of Georgetown, Janet Craft, of Greenwood, and Tracy Ellen Mozurak, of Ocean View; two step-children, Joanne Parsons and Jay Walls, all of Lewes; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; his brother, Leroy Bush; and his beloved dog, Goldey. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Friday, October 16, 2015 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, De, with visitation after 11:00am. Burial will be in Henlopen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to First Baptist Church of Georgetown, 20304 Dupont Boulevard, Georgetown, Del 19947.
