ELLENDALE - Howard P. King passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at home. He was born in Bridgeville the son of the late Howard Lee and Julia (Smith) King.
He was a cable technician for Diamond State Telephone and Verizon retiring in 1998.
He was a member of Harrington Moose Lodge as well as Past Governor and a member of Telephone Pioneers.
He enjoyed gardening and attending auctions.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Messick King.
He is survived by four children, Sherie Greenley, Paul King, Vickie Davila and Kevin R. King; special companion, Sylvia Kemp; sister, Katherine Evans; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, where friends may call after 6 p.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Telephone Pioneers or Easter Seals, 22317 DuPont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947.
