GREENWOOD - Hilda E. Gardner, of Greenwood, passed away at home Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007. She was 88.
Mrs. Gardner was born Dec. 1, 1919, in Dover, the daughter of the late Wilson and Margaret Conard Emert.
She worked as a nurse's aide at the Palmer Home in Dover for 15 years before retirement.
Mrs. Gardner enjoyed cooking, caregiving, crocheting and she will be remembered for her kind and quiet nature.
She attended the Church of Nazarene, Smyrna, all her life.
She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis McNatt of Laurel, Evelyn Shahan with whom she lived, and Mary Louise Thompson of Melbourne, Fla.; a son, Wilson Gardner Jr., of Clayton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Odd Fellows Cemetery, DuPont Highway, Smyrna.
