Herman T. Hickman Jr.

Herman T. Hickman Jr., 65

MILFORD - Herman T. Hickman Jr., of Milford, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. He was 65.

He was born in Marydel, the son of the late Herman T. Hickman Sr. and Laura Belle (Smith) Hickman.

Mr. Hickman worked for the city of Milford for 11 years.

He is survived by one sister, Rachael A. Fluharty of Harrington; two sisters, John Hickman of Harrington and Earl Hickman of Rising Sun.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call after noon.

Interment will be held at Hopkins Cemetery, Felton.

Florence Pederson, 79

LAUREL - Florence Pederson, of Laurel, passed away at her home on Saturday, May 31, 2008. She was 79.

Her and her husband "Bill" are formerly of Delmar. She was born in Goldsboro, Md.

She was active in the Girl Scouts, enjoyed camping, reading and working in the garden.

Florence was especially fond of traveling.

She was a member of Portsville United Methodist Church.

Florence is survived by her husband of 59 years, William "Bill" Pederson; her son, Robert L. Pederson of Bethel; a daughter, Joyce Collins of Laurel; her brothers, James Carlisle of Delmar and Charles Upham of Mardela Springs, Md.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service was held at Portsville United Methodist Church Cemetery in Laurel.

The Rev. Richard Bridge officiate.

Arrangements by the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, Laurel.
