Herman E. Willey

ELLENDALE - Herman E. "Pop" Willey, Jr. passed away Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at Milford Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Ellendale on Apr. 19, 1942 the son of Herman E. Sr. and Anna Belle Rogers Willey.
Herman served in the U.S. Army for five years, and then served 26 more years in the National Guards. Herman retired from Kraft Foods where he had worked as an electrician for many years. He was a member of the VFW Georgetown/Ellendale Post #2931, the Improve Order of Red Men Tribe #21, and many other civic organizations. Herman enjoyed coaching softball, playing golf, bowling, and going to Shorebirds games.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, James Enfield; and a sister, Bertha Enfield.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Shirley Veasey Willey; two sons, William E. (Liz) Willey of Millsboro, and Lee A. (Josette Bogar) Willey of Salisbury, Md.; four grandchildren, Austin, Ashly, Aubri, and Harley.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 West Market Street, Greenwood, DE 19950, where a viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Interment will be held at Oakley Cemetery in Ellendale.
