Herbert 'Herbie' Bennett, 36

LAURENS, S.C. - Herbert "Herbie" Franklin Bennett, 36, of Laurens, husband of Deborah Joyner Bennett passed away Sept. 9, 2009. Born in Dover, Del., he was the son of Robert J. and Dale Hurd Bennett of Laurens. He was a "B" Shift Lieutenant with the Simpsonville Fire Department and member of First Baptist Church of Laurens, the SC Fire Fighter Association, and he was a Mason. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are daughter, Faith Kristina Bennett and son, Brandon William Bennett, both of the home, a sister, Darlene Nicole Scott of Felton, Del., and mother of Faith, Dana Hutchins of Greenville. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13, at First Baptist Church of Laurens conducted by Dr. Bev T Kennedy, Jr. with burial in the Laurens City Cemetery with full Fire Fighter Honors. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends after the committal service at the cemetery.
