
Henrietta Law, 78
On Friday, May 14, 2021, Henrietta Law, loving wife, mother, sister and friend passed away at Kent General Hospital in Dover.
Henrietta was born in Easton, Maryland on October 24, 1942. The daughter of the late Wilbur and Margarite Van Scoy. In the early years she worked for Playtex Apparel as a seamstress among other various jobs there. During her children's younger school years, she drove a school bus. Once the children were older she became an entrepreneur, owning and operating Henrietta's Market and Restaurant in Magnolia between the late 70's until the mid-90's. Along with her husband, Francis Law (Jack) also owned and operated Law's Trailer Park in Rising Sun, Delaware. Finally, Henrietta started a Septic Business in the 90's. She held many licenses from design to installation to all the inspection licenses. She loved people and especially loved to help people. She was a good steward of the blessing the Lord bestowed on her and used her business savvy to envision, plan, build a Christian Retreat Center in Belize, Calif. With Henrietta there was always time for one more task, one more job, one more good deed. Providing homes for people that were struggling financially, helping and treating every septic customer like a friend and giving the very best advice to help at the best possible price.
Henrietta was proceeded in death by her loving parents, Wilbur and Margarite Van Scoy; two brothers, Norman Van Scoy and Donald Van Scoy.
Henrietta is survived by her husband of 50+ years, Francis Law (Jack); and 3 children, R. Wade Pleasanton, his wife Renee, Howard Pleasanton Jr. and his friend Donna and Loretta Law Murphy and her husband Major; her loving grandchildren, Waylon Pleasanton, Elizabeth Pleasanton Dennis, Heather Warren, Megan Pleasanton, Howie Pleasanton III, Ashley Allaband, Amber Murphy and Logan Murphy. She is also survived by two sisters, Alice J. Van Scoy, and Dora J. Olsen.
Henrietta also had stepchildren, step grandchildren, foster children and many friends and colleagues. Every person that had a relationship with her had a different experience and connection that was special to them.
Viewing Friday, May 21, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of service 12 Noon at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, Del. Interment to follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover, Del. The family is limited to 50 guests at one time, masks and social distancing are required. Memorials may be made the First Baptist Church of Marydel.
