Helena Lemex Lynch, 79

MILFORD - Helena Lynch passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 79. Mrs. Lynch was born on Oct. 17, 1930, in Milford, daughter of the late William Guy and Marian Holloway Lemex. She was a life long resident of Milford and a graduate of Milford High School. Helena was employed for 35 years in the accounting department with the state's Department of Correction, retiring in 1991. Subsequently, she enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent a lifetime helping to manage the family farming corporation, C.E. Lynch & Sons. Mrs. Lynch was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who also devoted some of her time to other children as a mentor at LuLu Ross Elementary School. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Milford, where she taught Sunday school. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Lemex Wolfe. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Claude E. Lynch Jr.; two daughters, Joanne Stickel and husband Curt of Milford, and Kay Warren and husband Steve of Felton; two sons, Gregory Lynch and wife Diane of Milford, and Claude E. Lynch, III and wife Gwen of Milford; a brother, Vernon Lemex of Jamestown, Colo.; six grandchildren, Lindsey and Amanda Warren of Felton, Danielle and Dylan Lynch of Milford, Jennifer Strickland of Milford and Greg Lynch, Jr. of Frankford; five great-grandchildren; two nephews, Ashley Wolfe of Milford, and Ross Lemex of Houston, Texas; and two nieces, Sherry Barksdale of Austin, Texas, and Kristy Armstrong of Rosenberg, Texas. Services were Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford. Burial was held in the Milford Community Cemetery on Route 113.
