Helen I. Turner, 89
Helen I. Turner of Dagsboro died, after a long illness, Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, in Coastal Hospice at the Lake, Salisbury, Md. She was 89.
Mrs. Turner was born and raised in Dagsboro, daughter of the late Joseph R. and Marydel W. West.
She graduated from Frankford High School.
Mrs. Turner retired as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service after 26 years in Dagsboro.
She enjoyed senior luncheons, sending cards, phone chats, and thinking of and giving to others.
Mrs. Turner was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver B. Turner, in 1978.
She is survived by a niece; and several cousins.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Thatcher Street, Frankford, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Dagsboro Redmen's Memorial Cemetery, Dagsboro.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Bethel United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 147, Dagsboro, DE 19939.
