Helen Blanche Todd, 87

GREENWOOD - Helen Blanche Todd of Greenwood went home to be with the Lord, Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, in the home of her son, James Todd. She was 87.

Mrs. Todd was born Dec. 1, 1919, in Baltimore, daughter of the late Norman Sr. and Winifred Hewitt Elliott.

After her marriage to Wilson E. Todd in 1941, she lived in Wilmington and worked as a waitress and factory worker at Bancroft. They later moved to Greenwood and she became a fulltime housewife and mother.

She enjoyed reading, doing crafts, and gardening. She loved flowers and her pets.

Mrs. Todd was a member of the Greenwood Cheer Center where she also did volunteer work.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband; Wilson Todd in 1981; six brothers; and eight sisters.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law; Morton and Clara Todd of Dover, Preston Todd of Selbyville, and James and Joyce Todd of Marydel, Md.; a daughter, Susan Brittingham of Harrington; a grandson and his wife, Wayne and Jamie Brittingham of Harrington; three great-granddaughters, Keirstin, Haley and Savannah, of Harrington; a great-grandson, Austin, of Harrington; an "adopted granddaughter," Destiny; a sister, Marguerite "Peggy" Elliott of Vinton, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friends, Mark and Norma Prettyman, June Huey, and Mary Parsons.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fleischauer Funeral Home, West Market Street, Greenwood, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

The family welcomes flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Caroline Hospice Foundation Inc., 613 5th Street, Denton, MD 21629.
