Heather Ashley Cowell, 21 GEORGETOWN - Heather Ashley Cowell, age 21, of Georgetown, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital. Heather was born on Nov. 29, 1988. She was the daughter of Lisa and Bill Flanigan, of Laurel and Ric and Diane Cowell, of Milford. She is also survived by, her paternal grandparents, Hal and Sandy Stintsman, of Georgetown, with whom she lived and maternal grandparents, John and Connie Taylor. Heather attended Sussex Central High School and played the flute in the marching band. She was loved by all who knew her. She attended Old Paths Church of Christ. Heather was preceded in death by paternal great grandparents, Albert and Ethelyne Harper and by her best friend, Rachel Gray. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she is survived by a brother, Brian Flanigan and his friend, Jessica; stepsisters, Nikki and Dana; several aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends; and her best friend, Herbie McIntyre. She is also survived by maternal great grandparents, Harry and Anna Mae Stokes, of Salisbury. Those who knew and loved Heather will miss her smile and her special way of making you smile. A funeral service will be noon, Saturday, April 24, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Pastor Frank Goehringer will officiate. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel. Immediately following the service at the graveside, a celebration of life will be held at Old Paths Church of Christ, 18295 Redden Road, Georgetown. Flowers are welcome, or contributions can be made to the church.
