Harry G. Jones, 84

LINCOLN - Harry G. Jones, of Lincoln, formerly of Clifton Heights and Upper Providence, Pa., died on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at his home. He was 84.

He was born in Philadelphia.

Mr. Jones was a Navy World War II veteran. He served on the USS Jouett, USS Bon Home Richard and the USS Indiana.

He received the Asiatic Pacific Medal with 2 stars, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern, America area, Philippine Liberation and World War II Victory Medal.

Mr. Jones was employed by West Chester University in West Chester, Pa., as a college professor of biology, marine biology and ornithology.

Mr. Jones was a dedicated teacher and a member of the American Legion of Milford. He loved the outdoors, nature, hunting and fishing.

He was a graduate of Clifton Heights High School in Clifton Heights, Pa., Millersville University and obtained a master's degree at the University of Pennsylvania.

He was husband of the late Margaret E. Wyatt Jones.

He is survived by children, John Lee Willoughby of Raliegh Duram, N.C., Robert S. Willoughby of Aston, Pa., and Judith Jones-Woods of Coconut Creek, Fla.; two grandchildren; and a brother, Richard M. Jones of Lakemont, Ga.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Monday in the M.F. Williams Funeral Home, where friends may call after 6 p.m.

Interment will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church Farm School, P.O. Box 2000, Paoli, PA 19301.
