Harriett Rogers Holden Savington, 98
MILLINGTON, Md. - Harriett Rogers Holden Savington of Millington died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in Chester River Manor in Chestertown. She was 98.
Mrs. Savington was born Feb. 20, 1909, in Church Hill, the daughter of the late Thomas Wesley and Lydia A. (Walraven) Holden.
Mrs. Savington spent most of her life as a homemaker, taking care of her family and working on the farm.
She was a 75-year member of Double Creek United Methodist Church and a member of the Top of the Hill Club in Sudlersville.
Mrs. Savington enjoyed gardening and canning. She also loved to sew, knit and crochet. She enjoyed spending time with her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Barrett Edward Savington, in 1981, as well as 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Glanding of Millington and Edith Jarman of Hartly; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington.
Friends and family may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m., also at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be held in Crumpton Cemetery, Crumpton, Md.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to Double Creek United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 187, Millington, MD. 21651.
