MILFORD - Harold T. Quillen of Milford died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, in Capital Health Care Service, Dover. He was 84.
Mr. Quillen was born in 1922, in Showell, Md., son of the late George and Anna Quillen.
His family later moved to Milford.
Mr. Quillen was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He managed auto parts stores until his retirement.
He was a devoted family man and loyal friend, who enjoyed dancing, singing, traveling, camping and fishing. He will be remembered for his gregarious spirit and he was the life of any party, along with his beloved, Marjorie. He will be remembered as a beloved husband and father. His spirit is now released to join his "dance partner" once again.
While in Smyrna, Mr. Quillen was an active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and the Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of more than 58 years, Marjorie Walls, in 2005.
He is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Ronald T. and Toni Quillen of Felton; a daughter, Michele Q. Johnson of Smyrna; a friend, who was like a daughter, Carol Alamares of Smyrna; three grandchildren, Allyson Quillen, Jesse Johnson and Jordan Johnson; two great-grandchildren; a sister and a brother-in-law, Beatrice and Ernest Jefferson of Salisbury, Md.; and several nieces, nephews and friends, with whom he shared many happy times with through the years.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be private in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Peter's Church, 22 N. Union St., Smyrna, DE 19977.
