Harold C. Davis, 90
Harold C. Davis of Milton, formerly of Bethel Township, Pa., passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007, in Harbor Healthcare Center, Lewes. He was 90.
Mr. Davis was born in Linwood, Pa. son of the late Tom and Sara (Hoopes) Davis.
He was an electrician at DuPont's Experimental Station, Wilmington for many years, retiring in 1978.
Mr. Davis moved from Bethel Township, to Milton in 1998.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving his country during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 811, Boothwyn, Pa., a life member of Bethel Fire Co., Delaware County Fireman's Association, and lifetime member of Milton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6984.
Mr. Davis had a love for flying and flew from Buchman, West Chester and Downingtown Airports in Pennsylvania, and was a member of the airports flying clubs. He also attended Goshen U.M. Church in Milton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annamarie Reynolds Davis; two sisters, Ruth Bennett and Pearl Robinson; and a stepson, William Warrington.
He is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Tom and Linda Davis of Ellendale; a stepdaughter, Marianne Sylvester of Milford; a daughter-in-law, Carole Warrington of Milford; four grandchildren, Bill Truitt and his wife, Christine, Michael Davis and his wife, Kimberely, Steve Davis and his wife, Vera and Keith Davis; four great-grandchildren, Kristine Davis, Brooke Davis, Gavin Davis and Kristian Hoffman.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton where friends may call after 10 a.m. The Rev. Eleanor Laws will officiate.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
