Harley Russell Long Sr., 57

CONOWINGO, Md. - Harley Russell Long Sr., of Conowingo, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, in Good Samaritan Hospital, Baltimore. He was 57.

Mr. Long was born Feb. 26, 1950, in Wilmington, to the late Harley F. and Irene (Ludlum) Long.

He had worked at Kent General Hospital as a plant operation supervisor since 1973.

Mr. Long loved spending time with his family and fishing and hunting.

He was a former member of the Delaware City (Del.) Fire Co.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Long, in 1991; a grandchild, Erin Long; and a brother, John F. Long.

He is survived by a wife, Donna D. Long of Conowingo; a son, Harley R. Long Jr. and his wife Leslie of Conowingo; four grandchildren, Kelsey, Julie, Jessica and Jake Long; three brothers, Phillip J. Long of Delaware City, John Malandrucclo of Greenwood, Del., and Tom Malandrucclo of Delaware City; two sisters, Marsha McCartney of Kansas and Evelyn Bolinski of Delaware City; and many cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Clinton Street, Delaware City, with the Rev. Sheila Hurley officiating.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
