MILLINGTON, Md. - Grace Stafford of Millington died Friday, June 1, 2007, in the Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 87.
Grace was born April 2, 1920, in Maryland, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Pearson.
She spent most of her life as a homemaker, taking care of her family.
Grace loved her flower garden, feeding the birds and taking care of her cat. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and go for rides in and around Kent and Queen Anne"s counties.
She was a past member of Holden"s Chapel Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd R. Stafford Sr., in 1982.
Grace is survived by four daughters, Jo Wendig and her husband David of Henderson, Virginia Smith of Millington, Sue Bratton of Clayton, Del., and Debbie King and her husband Mark of Millington; two sons, Floyd Stafford Jr. and his wife Mary and Clifton Stafford and his wife Bonnie, all of Millington; 13 grandchildren, David and Lisa Wendig, Kim, Holly, Lori and Cliff Stafford Jr., Pam Voshell, Donna Leager, Bud and Eric Bratton, Floyd Stafford III and Brian and Gene Cole; and eight great-grandchildren, Ashley and Danielle Stafford, Lyndsey Blackiston, William Voshell, Courtney Carpenter, Stephanie and Courtney Bratton and Allison Bratton.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be held in Crumpton Cemetery, following the service.
