GEORGETOWN - Goldie Marie Newingham Kurtz, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at the age of 96. She was the youngest of seven children, born in Latrobe, Pa., Mar. 6, 1915 to Margaret S. Kirchner and James W. Newingham. Her family was her focus, with baking and cooking her joy. She moved to Georgetown, Del., to be closer to her family, after the death of her husband, Carl E. Kurtz, Jr., in 1999. She was also preceded in death by a son, Carl E. Kurtz, III. Her family is very grateful for the care and compassion provided at Heritage Assisted Living in Milford and Harbor Healthcare in Lewes, and the comfort provided by local Catholic Church visitors. Goldie is survived by her daughter, Susanne Toccafondi, and husband Primo; son, James Kurtz, and wife Laura; granddaughters, Toni Coverdale and husband Tom, Christine Branco and husband Christopher, Linda Risk and husband Dennis; and great-grandchildren, Alex and Erin Coverdale, Abby and CJ Branco. Services will be private. Arrangements in the care of Short Funeral Services, Milton.
