MILFORD - Gilbert C. Simpson, of Milford, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 83. Mr. Simpson was born on Jan. 19, 1925, in Milford, son of the late Carl and Gertrude (McCullough) Simpson. He was employed as a construction worker for various concrete and steel construction companies for 30 years, lastly employed by the J. Roland Desheild Company of Salisbury before his retirement in 1980. Mr. Simpson loved watching western movies and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Irene D. Simpson; a son and daughter-in-law; Mark and Mary Simpson of Milford; two grandchildren, Christina Watson and Julia Simpson; and a great-grandson, Riley. Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in his memory to your favorite charity. Arrangements handled by Rogers Funeral Home, Milford.
