SEAFORD - Gertrude W. Lloyd of Seaford died Friday Nov. 9, 2007 at her residence. She was 87.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Walls and Avery Messick.
Mrs. Lloyd was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Seaford and she was the co-owner, along with her late husband, Richard M. Lloyd, Sr., who died in 1994, in the M. H. Lloyd & Son Fuel Oil business.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Harley Riggin Wood, in 1955; her son, Harley Richard Wood, in 1994; and by eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Richard M. Lloyd II, and his wife Crystal of Seaford; two daughters, Joan A. and her husband, Jack Messick of Seaford, and Sandra L. and her husband, Brian Alloway of Bethel; a sister, Emma Hignutt of Seaford; a daughter-in-law, Helma Wood of Laurel; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front and King streets in Seaford, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Seaford.
