George was born in Rock Springs, Wyo., and came to Delaware with his parents Clarence and Minnie Thomas, as a young child. He was formerly a House Painting Contractor in the Salisbury, Md., area. He and his mother owned and operated the G.W. Thomas's Antiques and Appraisals Shop near Odessa. After his mother passed away, he continued to operate the business for another 50 years. He was a member of the Antique Society. George also traveled around the U.S. and Canada giving speeches for Al-Anon and started Al- Ateen in Delaware. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Middletown. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandchild, Lisa Taylor; his sister, Hazel Willey and his brother, Jack Thomas. He is survived by three daughters, Yvonne "Bonnie" Balcerski and her husband Ed of Long Neck, Beverly Ann Wilson and her husband Jimmie of Delmar, Barbara Taylor and her husband Seth of Palm City, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Jude's the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Dr., Lewes, where friends may call after 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in George's memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, or Alzheimer's Association of Sussex County, P.O.
