George W. Blanchard Jr., 75

MILLSBORO - George W. Blanchard Jr., of Millsboro, died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 75.

Mr. Blanchard was born in Medford, Mass., son of the late George and Millicent (McPherson) Blanchard.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army.

Mr. Blanchard was a customer service agent with Astra Zeneca Corp. in Wilmington, retiring after 28 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Emily (Crump) Blanchard; two sons, Roger W. Blanchard and Steven R. Blanchard; a stepson, Robert E. Knox; a daughter, Barbara J. Blanchard; a stepdaughter, Kay E. Rabe; a brother, Richard R. Blanchard; and 12 grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Long Neck United Methodist Church, Long Neck Road, Millsboro.

Burial will be 2:15 p.m. Monday in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 North Halsted St., Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60622.
