George Ray "Bo" Bolinger, 83

DOVER - George Ray "Bo" Bolinger of Dover died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, in Silver Lake Center, Dover. He was 83.

Mr. Bolinger was born Oct. 22, 1923, in Cumberland, Md., son of the late Harry G. and Maude (Eyler) Bolinger. He moved to Dover in 1969, coming from Cumberland.

He retired as a staff sergeant from the U.S. Air Force in December 1965 after 21 years service. During his service tenure, he served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He then worked for civil service at Dover Air Force Base for 15 years, and as a crossing guard at South Dover Elementary School for 14 years.

Mr. Bolinger was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Gretel (Menzel) Bolinger.

He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Lois Marken of Flintstone, Md.; a granddaughter, Malena Martin of Flintstone; three nieces, Barbara McGaughey of Frederick, Md., Ellen Clark of Cumberland and Barbara Moyer of Cumberland; two sons, Frank G. Bolinger of Idaho and Roy Bolinger of England; a grandson, George C. Bolinger of Idaho; a sister-in-law, Margaret Bolinger of Cumberland; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
