ROCK HALL, Md. - George Muck, of Rock Hall, died on Jan. 13, 2011, at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. He was 86. He served in the U.S. Army in the 29th Calvary on horseback and was a Mule Pack Instructor during WWII. Mr. Muck was honorably discharged March 24, 1946. He married Joyce A. Krieger on Aug. 10, 1954. Mr. Muck owned and operated the U-Hall Franchise in Chestertown, Md., for 35 years. He retired on Nov. 11, 2008. He was a member of the Frank M. Jarman American Legion Post #36 in Chestertown, the Rock Hall Seventh Day Adventist Church in Rock Hall, and a Charter member of the U.S. Calvary Association. In addition to his wife he is survived by his two daughters, Rebecca L. Shepherd of Still Pond, Md., and Tammy L. Ament of Dover, Del.; along with five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at the Rock Hall Seventh Day Adventist Church in Rock Hall. Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Rock Hall Fire Company Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 577, Rock Hall, MD 21661.
