George L. Harris

George L. Harris passed away Dec. 12, 2018 in Dover. Mr. Harris was born on Oct. 22, 1922 in Shinnston, W.Va, the son of George Thomas and Catherine.
George was a highly decorated WWII veteran who served in the United States Army. He enjoyed doing crafts, woodworking, upholstery and spending time with family. He was an active deacon with his church, Christ Memorial Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Jean; children, Larry (Cindy), Ray (Angie) and Rick (Vickie); grandchildren, Chris, Bill, Shelby Olson, Brent, Samantha Mountz, Philip and Alexis; great grandchildren, Cody, Cheyenne, Ryan and Jason. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and his son, Gary.
Funeral Service Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Friends may call beginning at 12 p.m. and following the service until 3 p.m. Interment services private at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.
Memorials may be made to Christ Memorial Baptist Church, 1160 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, DE 19901.
