George F. Gourley Jr., 73
MAGNOLIA - George F. Gourley Jr., passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, in Magnolia. He was 73. George served in the military for over 20 years, starting with a tour in the Navy, and then he joined the Air Force, where he served until retirement. While in the Air Force he served as a Flight Engineer on a C-141. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for the State of Delaware as a Marine Policeman. He was a member of the American Legion. George's favorite hobby was boating, he loved fishing, crabbing, jet skiing, and just being on the water. He lived a fun-filled life accomplishing everything he wanted to do. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edith Gourley; and his sister, Marilyn Kerr, of Ellington, Fla. He is survived by two sons, Keith Robert Gourley, of Pflugerville, Texas, and George F. Gourley III, of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Lisa A. Osborne and husband Charlie C. Osborne, of Pflugerville, Texas; his sister, Ann Lura, of Huntsville, Texas; a brother, Joseph H. Gourley, of Maryland; a grandson, Jonathan A. Osborne; and a granddaughter, Samantha E. Osborne. He will be missed by his family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover.
