George E. Faulkner

George E. Faulkner, 81

SMYRNA - George E. Faulkner of Smyrna passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, in Green Valley Pavilion, Smyrna. He was 81.

Mr. Faulkner was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Newport, son of the late James F. and Ella (Rhoades) Faulkner.

He worked as an HVAC technician for Dover Air Force Base for several years before retirement.

Mr. Faulkner was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8801 and the American Legion David C. Harrison Post 14, both in Smyrna.

He was also a former member of the Smyrna/Clayton Moose Lodge.

Mr. Faulkner is survived by his wife, Iris (Fisher) Faulkner; two sons, George Faulkner and his wife Virginia of Marydel and Rick Faulkner and his wife Sandy of Townsend; two daughters, Jean Ann Newton and her husband Logan of Miami, Fla., and Patricia Faulkner of Dover; a brother, James Faulkner of Smyrna; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
