LINCOLN - George "Studie" Burton Jr., age 66, of Lincoln, passed away surrounded by his wife and family on Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was a dedicated employee of Burris Foods, Inc., of Harrington, for over 40 years, and he loved his job and his employers. He was a devout and dedicated member of Wesley Chapel Church in Slaughter Neck. He was preceded in death by his father, George A. Burton Sr; and a sister, Tacie Burton. George is survived by his wife, Virginia Burton; mother, Cleora Wright; sons, Michael (Talisha) Lambert of Midland, Texas, Matthew Lambert of Milton, Edwin Burton Sr. of Slaughter Neck, and George (Ivory) Burton III of Milford; one daughter, Gerene (Charles) Briddell Jr. of Salisbury, Md.; 24 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elkton (Theresa) Burton, and Marvin (Vivian) Burton of Georgetown; two sisters, Brenda (Percy) Johnson of Slaughter Neck, and Valerie (Charles) Jackson of Dover; and a devoted special sister, Vanessa (Michael) Lassiter of Slaughter Neck. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, at Wesley Chapel in Slaughter Neck, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be in the Old Hickory Cemetery, Slaughter Neck.
