Gayle Derrickson-Steele, 60

DAGSBORO - Gayle Derrickson-Steele, of Dagsboro, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. She was 60.

Gayle was born Sept. 2, 1947, in Millville, to the late Charles R. and Norma (Banks) Derrickson.

She was a medical transcriptionist at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford.

Gayle attended the Millville United Methodist Church.

She graduated in 1965 from Lord Baltimore High School.

Gayle enjoyed reading, gardening, lawn maintenance, cooking and decorating, and she was good at anything to do with homemaking.

She also loved being with her grandchildren.

Gayle is survived by two sons, Jeffrey D. Steele of Dagsboro and Jerrad D. Steele and his wife Kristen of Frankford; one brother, Mark Derrickson and his fiancée Leasa of Dagsboro; and three grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle and Morgan.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. George's United Methodist Church, Vines Creek and Omar roads, Clarksville, where friends may call at noon.

The Rev. Mike Hurley will officiate.

Burial will be in St. George's Church Cemetery, Clarksville.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to the St. George's United Methodist Church, 34281 Omar Road, Frankford, DE 19945.

Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.
