SMYRNA - Fredrich M. Garron Sr. passed away in the early morning hours of Feb. 17, 2011, after a long illness at the age of 65. He was born and raised in Masonville, N.J., being one of thirteen children. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. from March of 1963 to January of 1969, which included two voluntary tours in Vietnam. He was very proud to serve his country as a United States Marine. Fred was married to Sharon Mathews Garron on Jan. 1, 1968. The two were married for 43 years. After moving to Delaware in November of 1969, he worked as a mechanic on farm machinery. Eventually, he was employed for 20 years with Anchor Motor Freight as a Mechanic Welder. After retirement, he enjoyed working in his shop and around the house. He also enjoyed building and repairing things for his family, friends, and neighbors. He also enjoyed camping and taking care of his flowerbeds. In recent years, as his health declined, he began cooking on a regular basis, and enjoyed trying new recipes. Fred was also quite popular with the neighborhood dogs, by handing out treats or bones. Fred enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Mathews Garron; a son, Fredrich M. Garron Jr. and his wife Tammy of Hartly; a daughter, Jacqueline Garron Jackson and her husband Ed of Felton; two sisters, Betty Rossal of Delaware and Helen Seward of Iowa; two brothers, Louis and Ronald Garron, both of New Jersey; and five grandchildren, Edward S.
