Franklin R. Brown

Franklin R. Brown, 77 GREENWOOD - Franklin R. Brown, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 77. He was born in Bridgeville, son of the late William J. and Lida Swiggett Brown. Mr. Brown was a veteran of the United States Air Force and traveled the world as part of the Air Force Pistol Team. Frank was the owner and operator of Brown's Fire Equipment Company of Greenwood. He was a current member of American Legion Post 29 of Denton, Md., and the Harrington Moose. He was also past member and chaplain of American Legion Post 7 of Harrington . Frank loved taking care of his dogs and was an avid gun collector. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William J. Brown Jr. He is survived by his brother, Charles Brown and his wife, Ruth; a sister, Ruth B. Adams; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 2 William St., Bridgeville. Burial will be in the Bridgeville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
