Frank Francis Spalt, 74

LEWES - Frank Francis Spalt, of Lewes, died peacefully Saturday, March 31, 2007, in the Lewes residence of his daughter, Tricia Holland. He was 74.

Mr. Spalt was born in Baltimore, son of the late James Edward and Anna (Bilz) Spalt.

He was self-employed as an upholsterer for many years.

Mr. Spalt was a member of the Lewes Senior Center and the Lewes Cheer Center.

He was an avid bingo player and thoroughly enjoyed living in the beach area.

Mr. Spalt was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in active duty from 1952 to 1954.

He is survived by five daughters, Shelly Dosch and her husband Billy of Baltimore, Joanne Green and her husband Will of Baltimore, Lynn Millender and her husband Joe of Shreveport, La., Janet Wasilewski and her husband Tony of Abingdon, Md., and Tricia Holland and her husband Rob of Lewes; two sons, Bobby Spalt and his wife Kim of Forest Hill, Md., and Frank F. Spalt of Millsboro; a sister, Marie Beck; three brothers, Richie Spalt, Junie Spalt and Georgie Spalt; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his loving dog, Zoe.

He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Marie Spalt, in August 2003, and a granddaughter.

Services will be private, with interment in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, near Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958; or Delaware Hospice Southern Division, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
