Frank Evan Moffitt Sr.

Frank Evan Moffitt Sr., 80

TOWNSEND - Frank Evan Moffitt Sr., of Townsend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008. He was 80.

Born in Middletown on March 15, 1927, he was the son of the late Evan S. and Elsie (Cardin) Moffitt.

Mr. Moffitt proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Following his discharge from the Navy, he went to work as a union electrician where he worked for various companies throughout his lifetime.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved to travel.

Mr. Moffitt was a member of the International Brothers of Electrical Workers, Local 313, for more than 55 years, and Middletown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3792.

In his earlier years, he attended Townsend United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria E. (Mannering) Moffitt, in 1992; a son, Frank E. Moffitt Jr., in 2006; a granddaughter, Anne E. Moffitt; a sister, Anna Mae Moffitt; and a brother, Lawson Moffitt.

He is survived by a son, Leroy J. Moffitt and his wife Dawn of Townsend; a daughter-in-law, Sabina M. Moffitt of Townsend; and four grandchildren, Evan and Rebecca Moffitt and Tayna and Emily Moffitt.

Funeral services will be noon Monday at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and on Monday one hour prior to service.

Interment with military honors will follow the services Monday in Townsend Cemetery.
