Forest Franklin Ellis

MASSEY, Md. - Forest Franklin Ellis, of Massey, Md., died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at the Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown, Md. He was 84. Forest F. Ellis was born April 5,1927, in Chapmansville, W.Va., the son of the late William H. Ellis and Myrtle "Sims" Ellis. Mr. Ellis attended Chapmansville High School and was then drafted in the U.S. Army where he served in WWII; he also served in the U.S. Air force and served in the Philippean's. After his discharge he went to work for local saw mills as an equipment operator, most recently working for ATCO Pallet Co. He had a natural green thumb and could grow anything in his garden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife Sara Jane Ellis; six brothers, Orville Ellis, Roy Ellis, Joe Ellis, Paul Ellis, William Ellis, and Bob Ellis; and three sisters, Ruth Smith, Ruby Bryant, and Rose Adams. He is survived by three sons, Allen Ellis of Outer Banks, N.C., Bruce Ellis of Galena, Md., Richard Ellis of Cheswold, Del.; two daughters, Marsha Coleman of Smyrna, Del., Thelma Quinn of Massey, Md.; one brother, Dutch Ellis of Charlestown, W.Va.; one sister, Coleen Covelli of Chapmansville, W.Va. Services will be noon, Friday, May 20, 2011, at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock, Md. Arrangements by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington, Md.
