FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Florence Lynch Hearne of Fredericksburg died Monday, July 9, 2007, following a brief illness.
A native of Milford, Del., she was the daughter of George and Georgia Lynch.
Florence was a graduate of Beacom College and a member of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church and the Mary Ball Woman"s Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Douglas E. Lynch; and two sisters, Virdia L. Williams and Agnes L. Schwartz.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Dr. Gordon A. Hearne; a daughter, Susan H. Ingebretsen and husband Carl of Fredericksburg; a son, David G. Hearne and wife Julia of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Richard Gordon Ingebretsen, Kaitlin Florence Ingebretsen, Phillip Gordon Hearne, Daniel Farquharson Hearne, Thomas Clendaniel Hearne and Sarah McCrea Hearne; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Larry Lenow officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Members of the Fredericksburg Host Lions Club will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Covenant Funeral Home, Fredericksburg.
Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mary Ball Woman"s Club scholarship fund, c/o Mrs. Margaret Alexander, 213 Newton Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405.
