GEORGETOWN - The gates of Heaven opened and the Good Lord took the hand of Florence E. Wish of Georgetown on Nov. 20, 2010. The New York City native and the daughter of Gaza and Susan Hores began her life in the beloved town of Summit Hill, Pa. Graduated from Dover High School and met her husband of 59 years, Edward L. Wisk. She lived on the family farm with her mother until their move to Georgetown in 1966, where she began her family of three sons, Edward, Jr., Timothy and Glenn Wisk. She worked with the State of Delaware doing many jobs until her retirement. She will be remembered for her faith in God and her fight for life due to illness. Her love for life was evident to all who knew her, even in her orneriness. She loved to feed the birds and sing hymns with friends and family. Survived by her husband and three sons as well as nieces, Kathy Vaughn and Susan Halulakos and nephews, Michael and Allen Zihal of Dover and John and Eddie Evanek of Summit Hill, Pa., four grandchildren, as well as many treasured friends. Funeral Services will be noon, Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna. A celebration of life will be held at Family Ministries in Bridgeville at approximately 3 p.m. Contributions may be made to: Family Ministries, 101 Mechanic St., Bridgeville, DE 19933.
