Fleet Sydnor 'Tiger' Hughlett Jr. GREENWOOD - Fleet Sydnor "Tiger" Hughlett Jr., of Greenwood, passed away on April 21, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born in Cherrydale, Va., the son of the late Fleet S. Hughlett Sr. and Ethyl Hughlett. He was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School and later he graduated from Washington and Lee University where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and ROTC. He also attended John Hopkins University. Mr. Hughlett proudly severed his country in the United States Air Force where he was a fighter pilot for the Flying Tigers Special Operation Unit. He served in the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict; during this time he became a decorated war hero. He was the previous owner of Hughlett Cadillac and the owner of Hughlett Insurance Company. Later in life he was a member of Republican Party as a fundraiser, American Legion, Harrington Moose Lodge and Burrsville Ruritan Club. He also enjoyed being a chauffeur at the Delaware State Fair. Too closest to him will cherished his enjoyment of flying airplanes, raising quarter horses, German Shepherds and Siberian Huskies. He loved to watch NASCAR races, football games, and well as traveling, eating crabs and barbecue ribs. His long time companion of 20 years, Patricia T. White of Greenwood, survives him. A son, Jay Hudgins of Seaford, and two grandchildren, Emily and Haille Hudgins. A Memorial luncheon will be held in his honor at the Heritage Shores Country Club, One Heritage Circle, Bridgeville, Del., 19933 on May 8, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Anyone whom would like to attend should RSVP to Patricia White 302-349-4140 and leave her a message.
