GEORGETOWN - Evelyn Pearl Metz passed away peacefully at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.
Evelyn was born in Millsboro, daughter of the late Norman L. and Leona P. (Lofland) Jester.
Evelyn was a Kindergarten teacher for Georgetown Christian School and was known for producing the best Kindergarten plays and presentations and for giving each child individualized love and support. She was also a very active member of Old Paths Church of Christ in Georgetown. Evelyn was a Caregiver-she loved taking care of kids, her family, and her church family. For Evelyn everything revolved around her husband, Ed, and her family and church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Edward Metz; and her sister, June Gravenor. She is survived by her daughter, Leona Davis and husband Mark; son, Michael Metz and wife Martha; grandchildren, Ashley Metz, Mark James Davis, Jr., and Sean Metz; nephews, Bruce Gravenor and wife Dana, Walter Wilson and wife Sherri, and Rodney Wilson and wife Carol; and niece, Charlotte Rittner.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Old Paths Church of Christ, 18295 Redden Rd., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Old Paths Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Evelyn's memory can be made to: Old Paths Church of Christ, 18295 Redden Rd., Georgetown, DE 19947 or Delmarva Christian Service Camp, 143 Turner Dr., Dover, DE 19904.
