Eva Cooke Marshall

Milford - Eva Cooke Marshall was surrounded by her family when she peacefully passed away on Aug. 21, 2018.
She was a 56 year resident of Milford. Mrs. Marshall was the daughter of Howard and Sadie Cooke of Georgetown. She attended school in Georgetown and Goucher College in Baltimore. Eva was very active in community service. She was the first woman to be elected to the Christ Church Vestry in Milford, President of the Christ Church Woman, President of the Milford New Century Club, member of the Board of Directors of the Milford Memorial Hospital, and President of the Milford Hospital Auxiliary.
Mrs. Marshall is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Paul Lemieux of Lake Bluff, Ill.; her son and daughter-in-law, Donnell and Lisa Marshall of Milford; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her niece, Sarah Elizabeth Sunderland of Rehoboth Beach.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sarah Catharine Townsend; her brother, Major Leroy M. Cooke of the U.S. Marines; and her husband, Samuel M.D. Marshall, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 200 Church St., Milford, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018. Burial will be private.
