Eva Anna Knox, 86

FELTON - Eva Anna Knox of Felton died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, in Caroline Nursing Home, Denton. She was 86.

Mrs. Knox was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Denton, daughter of the late Eli and Effie (Hurd) Dill.

A lifetime resident of Felton, she was a homemaker. She was a hard-working mother who took in laundry and baby sat to help with family finances. She also worked outside the home at both the former Sandel Pickling, Sandtown, and the Rawleigh Store of Felton.

Mrs. Knox attended the Cedar Grove Wesleyan Church, Felton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Knox Sr., on Sept. 14, 1985; her siblings, Elizabeth Biddle, Beaulah Dill and Herbert Hurd; and a granddaughter, Lisa Knox

She is survived by three daughters, Louise Ann Dixon of Magnolia, Dorothy Mae Rash of Wyoming, and Sylvia Jean "Jeanie" Benton of Greensboro, Md.; a son, Earl Knox Jr. of Felton; a brother-in-law and his wife, Sam and Nelda Knox of Greensboro; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
